Sport(s) Played: Lacrosse

Q1: Why did you choose the sport that you play?
I started playing lacrosse in Kindergarten because my dad is from the east coast where it’s most popular and he played his whole life. He never let me pick up a baseball bat and put a lacrosse stick in my hand since I was a kid.

Q2: What is your favorite Madeira sports memory?
My favorite Madeira sports memory without a doubt was beating Indian Hill 7-1 last season to give Madeira lacrosse its first playoff win in school history.

Q3: How do you get motivated to practice every day?
I always want to get better and want my teammates to get better as well. I also know it won’t last forever and give it all I have every day.

Q4: Do you have any pre-game rituals or traditions?
I don’t really have any rituals or traditions I never eat like a signature pregame meal like most athletes, instead I just eat a bunch of fruit, especially apples, oranges and grapes.

Q5: Who’s your favorite athlete you look up to?
LeBron James because he is not just the greatest basketball player of all time but the greatest athlete this planet has ever seen and has an inspiring mentality and love for the game like no one else.

Q6: What makes a great teammate?
A great teammate has a positive attitude, wants themselves and everyone else to getter, and has a winning mentality.

Q7: What is on your pre-game playlist?
A complete mix of genres. I like to listen to grunge music like Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots. But I also listen to house music and Olivia Dean. I’ll listen to anything that gets me and the boys hype before the game.

Q8: What is the funniest thing you’ve seen or had happen to you in a practice or game?
This season on Senior night I came from behind the goal and once I got in front I got knocked to the ground with the ball still in my stick. I shot the ball while laying on the ground and it went in. I couldn’t believe it and was laughing and going crazy that it somehow went in the goal.

Q9: What are your plans after you graduate?
I will be attending the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.

Q10: What advice would you give an 8th-grade athlete as they move on to high school sports?
Trust in yourself and your skills. You’re a freshman and it can be nerve racking but you must believe in yourself no matter what. Make sure to learn and listen from coaches and older players who actually know what they’re talking about. Lastly, take it all in and enjoy every second because 4 years will be gone be from you know it.
