Q1: Why did you choose the sport that you play?
I grew up playing volleyball, and the first time I ever played, I fell in love with it. It feels good to get a kill and a really good dig.
Q2: What is your favorite Madeira sports memory?
My favorite memory is working as a team to defeat Wyoming this year in four sets.
Q3: How do you get motivated to practice every day?
My teammates keep me motivated to practice because it is fun to joke around with them at practice.
Q4: Do you have any pre-game rituals or traditions?
Our team would pray before games.
Q5: Who’s your favorite athlete you look up to?
The athlete I look up to is my mom because she played college volleyball and has always pushed me to be better throughout the years.
Q6: What makes a great teammate?
Leadership and reliability make a great teammate. Being a leader makes your teammates look up to you, and being a reliable teammate makes your team trust you.
Q7: What is on your pre-game playlist?
My pre-game playlist is mostly rap, and I like to listen to country sometimes before too.
Q8: What is the funniest thing you’ve seen or had happen to you in a practice or game?
The funniest thing that has happened during volleyball practice was when we were doing hitting lines, and John, our coach, was showing us a tip about hitting, and as he jumped in the air, DeeDee was standing under him as he jumped in the air.
Q9: What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to go to a 4-year college and study in the business field in college.
Q10: What advice would you give an 8th-grade athlete as they move on to high school sports?
I would tell them to look for the positive part of every situation, good and bad.
