Sport(s) Played: Football & Wrestling
Q1: Why did you choose the sport that you play?
I have a family full of wrestlers, so wrestling came naturally. I wanted to be like the NFL players on TV, trucking people, so I joined football.
Q2: What is your favorite Madeira sports memory?
Friday night football home games were always special, and the in-school duels were always the most electric atmosphere to compete in.
Q3: How do you get motivated to practice every day?
My fellow teammates are definitely a leading factor in my motivation to practice every day, as well as the motivation to better myself physically and mentally through playing sports I love.
Q4: Do you have any pre-game rituals or traditions?
I don’t really have any set pregame rituals, but I always try to eat a good meal to fuel my body properly and keep the energy in the locker room high.
Q5: Who’s your favorite athlete you look up to?
My older brother was definitely an athlete I looked up to growing up. Watching him make tackles on the football field or getting pins on the mat motivated me.
Q6: What makes a great teammate?
Good communication, and encouraging.
Q7: What is on your pre-game playlist?
Some Metalica can always get the blood flowing before a game or match.
Q8: What is the funniest thing you’ve seen or had happen to you in a practice or game?
I can’t pinpoint one moment, but sharing laughs with my teammates has been one of the best times I’ve had playing sports at Madeira.
Q9: What are your plans after you graduate?
I will be attending the University of Cincinnati.
Q10: What advice would you give an 8th-grade athlete as they move on to high school sports?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, put yourself out there for the coaches to see your potential, and have fun.
